Write down your goals for 2018 or else…
It’s amazing how when I write things down on a post-it note and keep it front of me I seem to get it done. I can have the busiest day. However, if that post-it note is on my monitor or on my mirror it seems to get done.
People who write down their goals and keep it in the front of them everyday have a better chance at reaching them than those who don’t write them down.
“But I have written down my goals so many times have forgotten all about them,” you may be thinking. Lets make 2018 different. Write down your goals before you go to bed and as soon as you wake up.
Also, review them midday. If you work on a Windows or Mac computer there is as app called Sticky Notes. Write down your goals on there. Be sure to glance at during the day.
If you’re not working on your goals you’re probably working on someone else’s.
Which is OK just as long as you are working on your’s. Try to cut down on time wasters. Here are a few
- Too much TV – Netflix, Soap Opera’s, Sports
- Too much video game playing
- Aimlessly surfing the internet. – Youtube
- Social Media
Try not looking at your phone be the first thing you do in the morning as that can put you in a reactive state for the remainder of your day. We are told that looking at your phone sends dopamine to the brain causing one to keep looking back for more texts, likes, comments or replies.
This in turn gives us an addictive rush. Causing us to keep looking at our phones for the remainder of the day.
It becomes hard to get anything done because of the constant phone distraction. I can assure you you will not miss anything of great importance.
Minimize the distractions and focus on your goals. Discover when you are most productive. For some of us it is at the beginning of the day. For others it can be at the end of the day.
Once you have found that work relentlessly on your goals and let’s make 2018 unforgettable.
